ITEC 8500 helped me to reflect on my current skills in instructional technology and to build knowledge on what I already know. Although I was familiar with many of the technology tools that were introduced to us during this course, I was introduced to some tools of which I was unaware. During this time, I learned how to use Google Draw through a group project and how to utilize Google Classroom to an in-depth extent. I also came up with my Capstone Project idea, which is to create a makerspace for the media center in the school where I work. I am very excited about this large endeavor and have been working on it, as according to the timeline we created.
I was also reminded of what it is like to have an encouraging teacher/professor again (which rejuvenated me in more ways than I could possibly describe). Dr. Vanderbilt gave constructive and positive feedback that helped me grow as an educator, person, and student. She supported me by being my facilitator at the GaETC while I presented, which made us get to know each other on a different level.
